Gear John Mayer sure can rock out on a Fender Stratocaster guitar. John Mayer is a great blues guitar player in addition to be a great singer also.
Pedals are a topic of hot debate in the Mayer-tone world, and it makes sense. Pedals are one of the easiest and least expensive way that a guitarist can shape his or her tone, and they are fairly modular, allowing the player to continuously swap out one pedal for another until they find the tone that is in their head.
One disclaimer however, that you will also hear echoed by countless players – and that is the tone of a great pedal cannot fix the tone of a bad amp. So make sure that you don’t go out and buy all of these pedals, plug them into a Crate amplifier, and expect John Mayer tone. These pedals are best suited for a Dumble style amplifier such as a Two-Rock or Ceriatone, and will also do a great job when used in conjunction with a solid Fender style amp. If you’re wondering what settings you should use on these pedals, check out the Mayer 2010 Rig Rundown on the Media page.

A Brief Introduction to John 5 and Fender John 5 Telecaster
John William Lowery, best known by the stage name John 5, is an American heavy metal/country guitarist. John 5 was bestowed on him in 1998 when he left David Lee Roth and joined the industrial metal group Marilyn Manson as their guitarist
We’re currently familiar with John 5, whose career turned much brighter since he left Marilyn Manson. From Rob Zombie to Lynyrd Skynyrd, he seems to show up in any style bands and perform really well. Simply because of his versatility, John 5 turned Fender’s endorsed celebrity, promoting for Fender by roving demos over and over as a lecturer of Fender University, John 5’s charm stretches from the stage gradually to daily life.
Furthermore, he is a self-described “Fender fanatic” with a jaw-dropping collection of his favorite instrument, the Telecaster (“the greatest guitars ever built, by far, hands down,” he said). Such is his love for the instrument that no surprise Fender crazily introduced 6 signature versions for him. The 3-color sparkle stripes telecaster in the below picture is one of John 5’s favorite guitars. The Fender J5 Telecaster is John 5’s signature model Telecaster, and was designed in part by John 5 himself.
Not all hard rock ‘guitar heroes’ that emerged music man jp6 price during the late ’80s-early ’90s were instrumental solo artists, as evidenced by Dream Theater’s John Petrucci. Born on July 12, 1967, and raised in Kings Park (a town located in the suburb of Long Island, New York)
To be honest, if this was production, I may have music man petrucci 6 considered this instead of the custom Suhr I’ve have on order. I wonder if this includes the mahogany “tone block”. I think a locking trem should always have been an option on the JP models and it’s lack is the only thing keeping me away.

He is also the band’s producer and main lyricist as well as an original member of the acclaimed Liquid Tension Experiment with Tony Levin. John is a long standing veteran of Joe Satriani’s prestigious G3 tours along with Steve Vai, Eric Johnson and Paul Gilbert.
